Edmonton is one of the top places to live in Canada, based on home affordability, climate, prosperity, crime rates, access to health care and lifestyles.

Edmonton Economic Development Corporation (EEDC) in Edmonton, Alberta, has four operating divisions to include economic development, tourism, the Shaw Conference Centre, the Edmonton Research Park, as well as being a joint partner with TECEdmonton.

EEDC’s key areas of focus are life sciences, financial services, energy, advanced technologies, advanced education and tourism.

City to add 15-km of bike lanes this year. Another 15 kilometres of on-street bike routes will be painted on roads this year, adding to the 20 kilometres of shared-use and reserved cycling lanes created in 2011.

Edmonton one of host cities for 2015 Women's World Cup. Millions of soccer fans from around the world will look to Edmonton in 2015, as the city hosts a piece of the FIFA Women's World Cup.

Edmonton's plan for parks. Over the next three-year budget period, the City will partner with the federal government and the River Valley Alliance to fund about $140 million in parks projects, including creating new facilities and upgrading old areas.
