Peel plans to welcome 500,000 new residents and 250,000 new jobs by 2041

The Region of Peel is growing. By 2041, it will welcome more than 500,000 new residents and 250,000 new jobs, growing to accommodate nearly 2 million residents and 1 million jobs by 2041.

You can learn more about the Region’s long-term plans for land use, transportation, water and waste water by attending one of the events where updates will be provided on:

• Draft growth management regional official plan amendment

• Draft transportation regional official plan amendment

• Water and wastewater master plan

• Long range transportation plan

The Region’s staff is:

• Ensuring an integrated approach to planning for land use, transportation, infrastructure and finance. 

• Developing “complete” communities, where residents can live, work, play, shop and get around in different ways – and have a community for life. 

• Working with local municipalities to meet their communities’ planning objectives, and community partners to get their input on where the region is going to grow and how people are going to get around, and making it a priority to protect the environment and agriculture resources as it grows.
