Indo-Canadian appointed to the Toronto Police Services Board

Dr. Dhun Noria is the Chief of Laboratory Medicine at the Scarborough Hospital in Toronto.

She obtained her MBBS from Hyderabad, India, with gold medals in surgery and pathology. After coming to Canada she obtained her fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Anatomic Pathology. Dr. Noria has been on the Scarborough Hospital and Foundation Boards, as well as the Board for the Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care. In addition, she chaired the Metro Toronto District Health Council and was Trustee of the University Health Network. Dr. Noria received a 25-year Teaching and Service award from the University of Toronto and recognition for her volunteer activities in Canada, India, and the US. She is an inductee in the Scarborough Walk of Fame 2011 and continues to work despite being a two- time cancer survivor.

She replaces Hamlin Grange, who has completed six years on the board.
