If you aren’t comfortable shaking hands... Smile and nod and say, “It’s not my custom to shake hands, but I am very pleased to meet you.”
If you go to work with a cold... Be sure to wash your hands frequently, and dispose of used tissues carefully in a waste paper basket. If other people use your phone and computer, clean them with alcohol wipes to keep them free of germs. Don’t shake hands with anyone and don’t be offended if people don’t stand close to you – they don’t want to get sick, either.
